Public utilities have a lot to manage and protect. Their systems. Their customers. Their employees. Their revenue. Precise pressure management helps them do that at every point in their water or gas distribution system. Pressure Profile gives water utilities the ultimate insight into how their system is performing using data from various Sensus smart devices linked throughout the system.
Our goal was to create an app that got right to the heart of what the user wanted to know about their system and allowed them to analyze the data over a set period of time.
In our workshop we discovered that the user did not necessarily want to see a dashboard of their system right away. Instead they wanted to see a real time map that gave them full view of their system and how it's networked. This allowed the user to "triangulate" any problem they might find after setting the thresholds for each end-point.
After our Design Workshop with the core cross-functional group, we further defined the user journey and understanding of the domain with weekly working core-team meetings. We sought to understand the user flow so we could define the architecture needed to accomodate the user's needs.
One of the unique features of Pressure Profile is the Pressure Slider Tool with the Pressure Bar Icons on the map page. This Pressure Slider allows the user to see how their pressure fluctuated over the last thirty days. As the user slides the scrubber on the Pressure Slider, if there is a change in the pressure data of the attached end-point, the Pressure Bars will change colors/and levels.
As the user starts to look deeper into their system by selecting an endpoint or group of endpoints, he would would like to see all the detail of his selection.
Once an he has his selection, th user will see a Detail Panel Slide out from the right side. In this panel the user can see specific data for his selection. He also has an option to view a line graph showing the data for his selection over any select period of time.
